Astor Piazzolla is considered the most important tango musician of the second half of the 20th century.
The Argentine Tango was adopted by different countries and cultures in many regions of the world. Its universality is indisputable and it was Piazzolla’s genius that led Tango to the “pantheon” of classical music.
Astor Piazzolla’s inspiration and virtuosity, both in his pen and in his handling of the bandoneon, were reflected in fifty studio albums, and led him to compose dozens of music for movies and songs (including real hits).
Gotan Project gathered some recordings of their favorite songs, compositions and interviews of Astor Piazzolla into a playlist to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth.
