This weekend, French newspaper Libération published a three-page article about Henry Darger. The journalist Clémentine Mercier had a throwback on his career, through his biography wrote by Xavier Mauméjean but also through the new OUTSIDER project of Philippe Cohen Solal and Mike Lindsay.
She wrote : “A new door to the Dargerian kingdom has just opened with the sublime Outsider, by Philippe Cohen Solal and Mike Lindsay. For the first time, Henry Darger’s lyrics are set to music in a moving folk album with vintage colors and pop melodies, admirably illustrated by handcrafted clips in which Vivian Girls and multicolored chimeras, awakened from a long sleep, put themselves in battle order for a better world.”
