With “TANGO y TANGO”, Philippe Cohen Solal (Gotan Project) once again brilliantly brings together “old tango” and electronic sounds.
Created for the eponymous show which opens in May at the Théâtre du Rond-Point, this album brings together the classic sound of the bandoneon with the contemporary world of electronic digital rhythms.
Brought alive by the wonderful performances from Cristina Vilallonga, who featured on the Gotan Project records, the Argentinian dancer and singer Mauro Caiazza and the actress and singer Rebecca Marder, the 11 tracks juggle skillfully between melancholy and vivacity : this is all the beauty and modernity of tango.
